The Assignment
At a Tennis Club in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, CT Planning obtained Planning Permission for the resurfacing with artificial grass of 4 courts together with the installation of a floodlighting system comprising of 20 floodlighting columns with a maximum height of 7 metres.
The tennis club is in a designated Conservation Area and is within an established residential area.
The challenge was to design a floodlighting system that safeguards the living conditions of neighbouring properties whilst preserving the character and appearance of the conservation area.
