Chris is a Chartered Town Planner who has run the practice from Lichfield for over 20 years. Chris has a hands on approach and deals with a wide variety of projects. He advises clients on all planning matters from enforcement to large strategic housing and commercial developments. Chris grew up in Birmingham and spends much of his spare time fell walking in the Lake District, avoiding potholes whilst cycling and searching for the silver lining of being a Birmingham City fan.
Will is a Chartered Town Planner with extensive experience of projects in residential and commercial sectors in both an urban and rural context. Will graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2005 and immediately started working his way up at a Local Planning Authority; leaving 8-years later as a Principal Planning Officer, leading on the authorities major projects. This included sustainable urban extensions, a nationally significant Ministry of Defence project and a retail-led city centre redevelopment. This early experience provided a sound base in policy, permitted development and building and maintaining relationships with the public, local politicians and other professionals. Since turning to consultancy, Will has acted for a range of clients on minor to large scale housing and commercial/employment-led developments. He understands the pressure to deliver timely and deliverable permissions and can ably assist clients from inception to implementation. Will also acts on enforcement, heritage and promotional cases and will be happy to discuss your project with you. Outside of work, Will has a young family and enjoys gardening, running, walking in the Peak District with his Border Collie and family and meeting up with friends to watch sports.
Philippa is a Chartered Town Planner with extensive experience in local plan and policy matters and is our resident expert on environmental matters and their relationship with the planning work we carry out. Philippa advises clients on a range of planning matters, from the preparation of a planning application to making representations to a Local Plan examinations. Between work and a busy home life, Philippa has a love of ‘craft projects’ and enjoys coffee with the girls.
James completed his Masters at Birmingham City University and is now working towards becoming a Chartered Town Planner. James joined the practice following 18 months working at a Local Planning Authority so has an excellent grounding in development management. He has an in depth knowledge of permitted development and provides clear, succinct advice to our clients on how best to navigate through the increasingly complex planning system. James can advise clients on residential and commercial development and has a proven track record in securing planning permissions on challenging sites. James has recently become a father for the first time and has keen interest in health and fitness. A former boxer and life-long West Brom fan, James is as happy talking sport as he is planning.
The oil that keeps our team running smoothly. Clare manages our caseloads and assists the planners in preparing applications for submission. Her keen eye for attention and diligent approach ensures that we are kept up to date as an application progresses enabling for a swift well managed response. Clare is a season ticket holder at Villa Park and almost completes a clean sweep of West Midlands football teams in the office. Annette has been working alongside Chris for 21 years. She primarily runs the accounts team, finalising fee proposals, organising invoicing and ensuring our bills and the tax man are paid on time. Annette’s role includes HR and admin support. She has 4 boys, so her organised work ethic, which extends to her homelife, ensures her house is always spick and span. Annette has volunteered at St Giles Hospice for over 10 years, offering admin support for 1 day each month. Annette is not a football fan!
Julie joined us from the Ministry of Justice following over 25 years loyal service. Julie immediately took to the role of supporting the planners with professionalism and a warm, ‘can-do’ attitude. She works alongside the planners in pulling together planning application documents and makes sure that every submission made is accompanied by the necessary information. Julie has a passion for interior design and is always on the lookout for new ideas to transform her home, encouraging her husband to
re-decorate again. Julie’s big love, aside from her family of course, is Take That, especially Gary Barlow. Julie also enjoys going to the theatre with family and friends.
Charlotte is a Chartered Town Planner with wide-ranging experience of residential and commercial projects following nearly 15 years in Local Government. Charlotte graduated with a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning in 2007 and worked up to being a Principal Planning Officer at a Local Authority. Her experience includes dealing with sustainable urban extensions, mixed use schemes and large scale residential developments, listed buildings and agricultural development. This experience has provided a positive grounding in policy and also in permitted development. Now in her consultancy role she will be able to apply her knowledge of the planning system to assist clients with their enquiries and applications.
Outside of work Charlotte enjoys a busy homelife with her husband and four young girls, in her spare time she enjoys holidays and socialising with friends and undertaking her role as a school governor.
